Our portfolio of work includes rolling out digital learning across rural regions in South Asia, leading the digital transformation of the world’s largest education service provider, scaling teacher professional development solutions in premium as well as low-cost and public school, and building a curricula of change in Rio’s Favelas & Greece’s refugee camps.

Subject matter experts
Joy Buckner is a “joy” in name and spirit and holds a true passion for all things literacy, coaching and teacher development. She is a catalyst for moving people beyond their fears to better their practice. A native of Denver Colorado, Joy has served communities in the USA and UAE as a Teacher, Literacy Specialist and Reading Interventionist, Instructional Coach, Director of Teaching & Learning and EdTech Executive. She is thrilled to now bring her diverse experience to Mirai Partners as an Associate. Joy develops the individuals she is working with to reach their highest potential. Essentially, she is a lifelong learner, coach, trainer and lecturer that brings the sunshine back into learning and growing. Joy is an avid reader, a self-proclaimed chatty Kathy, chocolate lover and foodie who loves to Travel.
Svetlana Morozova is a dedicated language teacher and an educational expert from Russia, Nizhniy Novgorod. Svetlana has more than a decade of experience in the educational field working in public and private sector schools. During her teaching career she has worked on devising educational programs for youngest learners and school-age children, coordinated school extra-curricular educational projects, and led teacher-training seminars. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Svetlana managed school-based summer educational programs and educational camps for children (aged 7-14). Now is working at Mirai as a country lead of HP IDEA in Kazakhstan.
Charina is passionate and hardworking at her craft. She's team oriented and with over 13 years of experience and exposure in the BPO industry she brings excellent customer service. Her knowledge and commitment in customer service, quality assurance through phone support, email support, chat support, managing and motivating people to achieve their goal. She takes pride teaching English online, providing the best learning experience. With her passion and commitment, Charina ensures quality of work and communication.
Salsabil Sami worked as an Arabic teacher for ten years, then leader for development and scientific research team at her school for 4 years. Salsabil relies in her work on the necessity of developing the teacher's scientific research skills and using the results of those research to provide and rich distance learning experience. She has a master's degree in curricula and methods of teaching in Arabic language, as well as a diploma in curriculum design. Sasabil is a traveler, she wants to know more about peoples' cultures and enriches the teaching and learning experience with her adventures.
Helen Loxston-Baker brings a passion for digitally supported teaching and learning to her work as an Associate with Mirai Partners. Helen has lived and worked in the UAE for almost 10 years as the Head of Teaching, Learning and Innovation at GEMS Wellington Silicon Oasis and as a master trainer across the GEMS network supporting UK, American, CBSE, and IB schools. Helen is a Microsoft Fellow and MIEE (Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert) and former summer faculty at Harvard Project Zero. Helen deftly balances theory and practice in her training and ensures that everyone leaves with ideas they can implement right away. Helen is a Mum to a very energetic two year old daughter who keeps her on her toes and makes sure every day is full of new learning and joy

Tonie shares her passion for quality work and attention to details. She brings her experience and learning from more than 12 years in the BPO industry. Her competency is the accumulation of exposure in customer service and quality assurance through phone support, email support, chat support, and quality assurance. With her commitment and dedication, Tonie ensures the smooth flow of work and communication.
Hanny Semere is a young entrepreneur that is dedicated to creating social impact and reducing inequality through disruptive business. Driven by her passion for sustainable entrepreneurship, Hanny co-founded a social start-up called ‘Enpov’ that aims to “harness the power of mobile for development to connect farmers in rural Ethiopia & SSA to on-demand transportation, allowing better access to markets.” As an advocate of female empowerment, youth engagement and leadership as well as social imapct, Hanny has also been invited to speak to world leaders including the former Prime Minister of Norway, Gro Harlem Brudtland, the current Prime Minister of Denmark, Lars Loekke and the former President of Ethiopia, H.E. Dr. Mulatu Teshome. Currently, she is a subject matter expert on Ethiopia with Mirai and a strategy consultant.
Jamiu Idowu is an entrepreneur and a researcher with interest in IT, Education and Innovation. He started his career as a civil engineer that helped to build earth dams for irrigation in Northern Nigeria. He then moved on to work on research projects to build education strategies for Governments in the Middle East and Africa. Jamiu is passionate about human capital development in Africa and has executed several education projects including Project Kawefunmi, a digital basic literacy project sponsored by the US Consulate in Nigeria. He has experience working on projects in FinTech, e-Learning, Construction and Civil Engineering, Innovation, and Data Analytics.
Jamiu enjoys research and technical writing and can serve as a bridge between technology and its users. He is currently the Country Manager of the HP IDEA Program in Nigeria
Dr. Vandana R Singh is an author, literary translator, and language educator. She has rich experience of working in the area of education technology and skill development. She has been involved with education as an Associate Professor of English, curriculum developer, textbook writer, and content editor in National Council of Educational Research & Training, (NCERT), India.
Dr. Singh holds a Ph.D. in Indian Writings in English. She views literary translation as a means of building bridges between diverse literatures and a medium for facilitating cross-cultural exchanges. She educates and empowers the young by imparting English language for improving learning outcomes, and raising their employability quotient, upward mobility and social acceptability.
Her literary translations, writings on communication skills, and English language teaching for schools have been published by Oxford University Press, Penguin India, Katha, and National Book Trust, India
Lena Borno is Head of Operations at Mirai. Lena has spent nearly 10 years in the Gulf Region in the education sector. Prior to joining Mirai, Lena was the Senior Manager for Partnerships. She helped establish MyPathToUni in 2019 with a consortium of strategic partnerships worldwide. She has also negotiated effective long-term collaboration with various institutions globally that offer unique opportunities for staff and students.
